Alice began to pursue a creative practice whilst studying for an undergraduate degree in languages. She earned a Masters in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from London College of Communication, going on to nurture multi-disciplinary interests in both photography and writing.

Her first significant body of work ‘In Eden’, documenting Appleby Horse Fair, paved the way for later projects on wild swimming, fat activism, and most notably, Stonehenge. Commissioned by National Geographic, Stonehenge saw Alice travel to the world famous pre-historic monument, documenting day to day visitors and celebrations, historians, archaeologists, environmentalists, Druids, and contemporary spiritualists. Alice’s imagery explores the enduring lure of this ancient neolithic site, and the rituals, ceremonies and celebrations that connect humans today to those who built it.

She says of her craft, “my approach is always to strive for honesty and authenticity, whilst also looking for unexpected or overlooked aspects. I’m drawn to the edges of things, the sweet quiet moments away from the main action, the individual rather than the crowd."

In tandem with her photographic practice, Alice is an accomplished and sensitive writer, penning a widely read newsletter on photography, Interloper, and contributing interviews, essays, and criticism for 1000 Words Magazine, British Journal of Photography, Elephant, Magnum, PYLOT and Splash & Grab.

In early 2023, Alice was commissioned by Granta Magazine to shoot twenty portraits for the literary title’s Best of Young British Novelists issue, published once every ten years - a commission placing her firmly at the intersection of both practices.

Her client list includes Adidas, Airbnb, Albam, FT Weekend, Granta Magazine, M Le Monde, National Geographic, The New Statesman, Selfridges and Vivobarefoot.
