Justin Kaneps is a photographer based in New York City, whose work explores the social, psychological and environmental impact of technology, manufacturing, industry and national identity.

In this ongoing personal project shot in Latvia, Justin explores the permeability between the psychic reality of our every day, and the folk magic, ritual and mysticism of traditional pagan celebrations. Inspired by the legacy of his Latvian grandmother, Inese, and her cosmic connection to the natural world, the first leg of the project shows the pagan tradition of Jāņi (Summer solstice).
